COVID-19 Updates

March 16, 2020

The health and safety of our attendees, exhibitors, speakers, AEE staff and the general public is of the utmost importance to AEE, and as such we have canceled the 2020 AEE East Energy Conference and Expo. We have been monitoring the constantly evolving situation with COVID-19 and on March 12, the Ohio Department of Health issued a “Director’s Order” aimed at “prevent[ing] the spread of COVID-19 into the State of Ohio.”   The Order prohibits all “mass gatherings” within the State of Ohio of more than 100 people.

For decades, AEE has been focused on delivering these valuable events offering opportunities for education, forging partnerships, networking and more. We believe there is nothing like doing business in person and hope to see you at a future AEE event. We wish you all good health and safety during this difficult time.

AEE continues to monitor the ever-evolving situation with COVID-19. We are in constant communication with the Duke Energy Convention Center and the City of Cincinnati and have been very carefully considering their latest recommendations on March 10 & 11 to limit large gatherings. As we were working on contingency plans for AEE East in 5 weeks, we learned the state of Ohio signed a ban on gatherings of more than 100 people at 2:32pm EST.

We are in the process of exploring options including (but not limited to) postponement, rescheduling or consolidating with another AEE Conference and Expo. As you can imagine, many details have to be considered and so we request your patience and understanding. We are committed to your safety and well-being and to keeping you informed as plans are defined.

AEE Events to be Held As Scheduled

We will update this page weekly (or more) as the situation evolves.
AEE extends our concern and support for those impacted by the Coronavirus COVID-19. We are closely monitoring the situation as it relates to AEE East.
CDC and WHO are not recommending the cancellation of events and large gatherings. AEE expects little to no disruption to the conference program and networking events.

Exhibitors and attendees are still signing up.  We will follow protocols of the CDC, WHO and local authorities while planning onsite activities and precautionary measures.

We will provide updated information as it becomes available, and are working very closely with the city and Duke Energy Convention Center to stay informed. And all hospitality venues are monitoring the situation diligently.
